Introduction
Canine Edu-Centre is a dog training and rehabilitation facility situated on the East Rand in Gauteng, South Africa. The centre provides services to owners of large and giant breeds, including German Shepherds, Great Danes, Boerboels, Dobermanns and many others.
Training and treatment take place on an individual basis by qualified and skilled personnel. The centre also provides an inboard training service, with dogs staying at the premises for the duration of their training.
Training focuses on obedience and socialisation. The goal is to educate man's canine companion to such an extent that the dog becomes a civilised and well-behaved member of dog/man society. Training progresses in accordance with the dog's abilities and aptitude. Personal protection courses are offered to dogs with the necessary potential in this area.
Treatment and rehabilitation of dogs with emotional and behavioural problems is also offered. Abnormal behaviour is treated and corrected, and the dog and its owner are guided to establish a healthy working relationship.
Sometimes life treats us differently from what we expected and an owner is put in a situation where he/she cannot or does not want to keep a dog any longer. In such cases rescue and rehoming services are provided by the centre. Unwanted dogs are taken in and rehomed over a period of time. Canine Edu-Centre is a no-kill facility so no dogs are euthanised, and all are given a chance to find a new and suitable home.
